Nice Fit

We're very pleased with these kayak covers. They're nice quality, easy to secure, and keep bugs from crawling inside (which was primarily why we wanted them).

Good Travel Cockpit Covers

These covers got a perfect test on their first use... a four-hour road trip with a bad storm along the way. My goal with these covers was to keep water out of my two Wilderness Systems kayaks while they're on top of my vehicle. I learned in the past that a heavy storm can fill-up the kayaks with a ton of water, making them very heavy and hard to get off my vehicle. Even after not doing a great job of installing the covers on my first attempt, they still managed to keep out almost all the rainwater from the storm I drove through. For the money, I think the covers are a good deal and do what I want them to do. The only improvement I'd like to see would be new strap hooks that don't fall off so easily; perhaps something like a carabiner with a "lock" on it.TIP: To ensure the covers stay snug on a kayak when the strap is too long, tie several knots into the strap to shorten it until it holds the cover securely. There may be a more professional looking way to shorten the straps that need it, but the knot trick is reversible and easy to do without tools.

Perfect for my Hobie Pro-angler

Product is well made, and material is thick. We live in bright sun and heat year round. Harsh elements.I gave it a four because I do not know how well it will hold up. otherwise it looks and fits great.

Perfect cockpit cover

Fits my pelican and perception kayaks. The 3 bungee cords are adjustable allowing loosening or tightening. They are being used to protect kayaks hanging on the fence outside. So far they haven't blown off and keep most things out.

Does what it’s supposed to.

Used this for an Old Town Sportsman PDL 120. It had a little bit of room in terms of length, and goes about mid-line (with the seat in). For an inexpensive cover though, it does the job. No complaints. I used it on a 3-day trip and the kayak stayed dry through the rain and the straps stayed tight. Good enough for me.

Perfect with one caveat

I just put these on and they work! They seem well-made and sturdy enough to last. I have two lake kayaks that are 10' long with 40 inch opening. The price is very reasonable and I expect them to last quite a while. What's my one caveat? The three per kayak bungee cords are strong (not the cheap, weak ones), but a bit awkward to put on for one person. I'll keep the good bungees but will replace them with lashing straps. These be easier to put on, allows picking up kayak from with bottom, and can even be used for transportation. Ironically, I think the good quality of the bungees says a lot about the company and product.

Not Long Enough

This cover seems very sturdy and I think it will hold up well against the elements, which are pretty harsh here in the winter. Our kayaks are stored outside in racks on the shore of a lake, and the winter weather comes roaring off the lake so it can be very cold and windy. We have Pelican sit in kayaks. My goal for this cover was to (1) prevent water from accumulating in the kayaks and (2) cover the kayak in such a way that mice can’t crawl under the end of the cover and make a weather protected home for themselves.Unfortunately, the cover is long enough to cover the seating area of the boat, but not long enough to completely cover the recessed area in the bow of the boat. Goal number 1 will likely be met, because the kayaks are on their sides in racks with the bottom of the boat facing into the weather. So I think between the position of the boat and the cover, water won’t pool inside. But the space between the cover and the recessed bow is definitely large enough for critters to get in there. No matter how we adjust it we can’t get a tight fit in the area. That’s really disappointing.Additionally, it is very difficult for me to get the cover on alone. I sometimes kayak on my own and need to be able to replace the cover without getting someone to help me. I’m 5’3”, and while the straps on the cover are definitely long enough to hold the cover in place, they aren’t long enough for a person my size to easily grab both ends when the kayak is racked on its side. Another 6” on each end would be much better.Keeping these for now because we need something, but will likely have to buy something longer for next year.
